Founded by AEC pioneer Arol Wolford, Spatial Construx was created to bridge the gap between cutting-edge design technologies and real-world application. We saw the need for a system that empowers professionals at every stage, design, construction, and post-construction to engage with their work in meaningful, data-driven ways, beyond just viewing it in real-time 3D.

The Founder
Arol founded Construction Market Data (CMD Group) in 1982, growing it from five employees into a global building information leader with 1,300 people before its acquisition by Reed Elsevier in 2000. He was one of the original board members of Revit Technology Corporation, creator of the first parametric building modeler, and remained on the board through its sale to Autodesk in 2002.
Since then, Arol has founded and led a series of BIM ventures including SmartBIM, VIMtrek, and VIMaec. He is an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects, the first non-architect chosen for the AIA 150 Board, a two-time CSI President's Award winner, and a Design Futures Council Senior Fellow.
Every venture has served the same goal: use building information properly so the industry can design smarter and build better. Buildings account for a major share of the world's carbon emissions, and Arol sees better use of building data as the most powerful way to shrink that footprint. With Spatial Construx, he is putting BIM to work the way it was always meant to be used, helping teams construct buildings that are more efficient, more sustainable, and better for the world around them.
